The Cowboys released five players Tuesday, leaving them with 81 on the roster and all but assuring David Buehler goes to camp as the unquestioned leader in the kicker contest according to Todd Archer of the Dallas Morning News. Connor Hughes, who had been competing with Buehler, was among the players let go. He worked out for the Cowboys last year when they decided to part ways with Nick Folk but lost out to Shaun Suisham. They still have Delbert Alvarado, an undrafted rookie, on the roster. Also cut were: cornerback Marquis Floyd, wide receiver Rashaun Greer, guard Chet Teofilo and tight end Nick Tow-Arnett.
