The Cowboys got healthy as they watched the Eagles and the Giants both lose games they were favored to win. Philadelphia lost at Buffalo, while New York lost to Seattle at home. "I think the biggest thing we try to do every day, but particularly this early in the season, is worry about ourselves and what we’re doing," Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said. "I think sometimes people get caught up in, 'OK, they won; they lost; that’s good for us; that’s bad for us. Really what we have to worry about is the Dallas Cowboys and being our best every day." The Cowboys' 2-2 record has them in the thick of the NFC East race. Washington is 3-1. The Giants are 3-2. Philadelphia is 1-4. "It feels real good just for the fact it is wide open," Cowboys linebacker Anthony Spencer said. "It’s a real long season. We have a lot of games left. You’ve got to take them one at a time."
