Cowboys Select Oklahoma RB DeMarco Murray (Rd.3, No.71)

With the 71st overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, tthe Dallas Cowboys select Oklahoma RB DeMarco Murray. A physically talented skill player who has flashed dominance in the past, Murray runs with a smooth style, has good quickness, and displays the ability to bounce around piles and make defenders miss. He possesses the agility to turn the corner, finds cutback lanes, and quickly gets through them. He also keeps his feet moving on contact, runs with good lean, and shows a burst. Murray has displayed skill the past three seasons and at times makes scouts think he offers potential as a feature runner in the NFL. His penchant for injuries and occasional soft style will downgrade him, though Murray possesses all the skills necessary to produce at the next level if he plays up to his potential.

It's still 10x's better pick that Watkins followed by 4th rounder in the second jarrett. Eagles are going to start putting in requests for players who are in college.

can you guys explain to me why the Cowboys feel the need to grab a RB?

Felix Jones (main RB/3rd down), Marion barber (power back), Demarco Murray (change of pace/3rd down back), Tashard Choice (solid everywhere)

Why do they hate Choice so much?

 

yeah its definitely barber, he's not did hardly anything past few seasons, and he makes a helluva lot of cash flow.

 

then they'll be missing a power back though.

 

I think Murray is a Garret Back. he seemed pumped about the pick. Jones IMO will be the better runner, but Murray is a very good reciever and blocker. Thats going to get him the start IMO

Jones is a decent blocker, bad reciever outside of swing pass's

Choice is a terrible blocker

 

We dont have one now. Barber is a terrible short yardage runner now. Jones is a more effective short yardage runner then Barber........seriously

Wouldnt surprised if both Barber and Choice are gone and we bring in a few udfa's when we can

 

this guy has break away speed like Chris Johnson.
