Cowboys coach Wade Phillips said after the game that he might re-evaluate his plan this week to rotate starts at right cornerback for Orlando Scandrick and Mike Jenkins. Scandrick struggled in pass coverage Sunday night against the Giants. Jenkins was solid last week in a start in the Cowboys' win over Tampa Bay. "We are going to look at it and see," Phillips said. "We evaluate every week as to how players are playing, and we didn't cover [Giants receiver Steve Smith] at all the whole game." Source: Dallas Morning News
Were they watching the same game last week as me? I'd hardly call Jenkins solid. Evaluate it with a nice addition of Chris McCallister.
One of the reasons the secondary was bad was because the defense wasent getting much pressure. Its very had to do well in the secondary if they have time.
Right now Jenkins has been our best cornerback. I'm happy with just Jenkins and Newman starting no need for any of this rotating garbage. Jenkins has a higher ceiling than Scandrick, thus we should play him and let him grow into the type of player he can become.
