If Dan Dierdorf could beam himself into the press boxes of NFL stadiums around the country, he might keep calling games a few more decades. But with two artificial knees, two artificial hips and a bad back, the travel required by his analyst job for CBS just became too much.

ICECOLD's Take: 43 years in an industry would wear anyone down. Enjoy retirement Dan

My favorite Dierdorf moment was a long long long time ago (I hope it was really him), when New England made the Superbowl with Bill Parcells as coach. They were showing a bunch of things before the game, and the camera was on Bill Parcells, he had a pretty serious look on his face. Then Dierdorf spoke "If only a face could talk" my stepfather and I looked at each other like "did he just say that?" We were shocked none of the other announcers said anything about it. It was funny as crap.
