Thursday is the deadline for the Indianapolis Colts to resolve the Peyton Manning situation. The Colts owe the NFL's only four-time MVP a $28 million bonus by Thursday. That triggers the final four years of Manning's five-year, $90 million contract which includes a 2012 base salary of $7.4 million. If Irsay opts to not pay the bonus and Manning does not agree to a lesser, restructured contract to remain with the Colts, he becomes an unrestricted free agent. Manning, who turns 36 later this month, missed the 2011 season after undergoing Sept. 8 spinal fusion surgery. Source: Indianapolis Star
I just can't wait for it to be over so we can stop reading bullcrap stories about what each side is supposedly saying.
Compared to Favregate this is a new Scorsese flick debuting on a major network provided free over the air.
:word: on a related note, john clayton was on mike and mike this morning and said that the odds are still leaning towards the colts releasing him and they only thing that could salvage the situation is if peyton would be willing to restructure at a huge discount.
