Griffen, a versatile defensive end from the University of Southern California, might be available to the Lions with the 34th overall pick, and that will present something of a dilemma for Detroit general manager Martin Mayhew. The Lions are in desperate need of a cornerback and a running back, and there should be some excellent candidates at both positions available at the top of the second round. If a player of Griffen's caliber, however, slips, the Lions might consider putting those other needs on hold.
