It’s clear that one of Chip Kelly’s goals is to create a competitive environment where every player on the Eagles’ roster feels like he has a chance to win a spot and make an impact. So it should come as no surprise that newly-signed quarterback Dennis Dixon believes he’s very much in the mix to be the Birds’ starting quarterback. “From my understanding, the job is open,†Dixon said Monday afternoon during a conference call with reporters. “It’s going to be a very competitive nature around here. It’s pretty much open. May the best man win.†Of course, from an outside perspective, we know that’s not exactly true. Michael Vick recently re-structured his deal, and he’ll make a reported $7 million just for being on the team next season. Something tells me Kelly fed Dixon whatever he needed to hear so that he feels that he has a chance in training camp. You never know he could outplay Vick and Foles and claim qb1. It's not out of the realm of possibility.
I doubt it i see vick starting next year as a test trial in chips offense and then if not foles is next man up. I dont want the eagles to give up on him the kid does have an arm hes not to bad i think. dixon was signed if vick goes down this year imo.

My thought s as well. Vick or Foles aren't Chip's 'guy'. He knows Dixon. He knows exactly what he is capable of doing. In all honesty, I'd give Dixon the edge to start over the other two as of right now.
If where gonna give Dixon a 2 year contract and he has only " ATTEMPTED " 59 passes and completed on 35 ...lol,..lol.. thats it.. thats all he has done in 5 years... and I have seen him play withthe Steelers he "SUCKS" ..... It wouldnt hurt for my Eagles to take a look at Tim Tebow and lets see how he has developed at this stage in his career. because "we" really dont know because the Jets screwed him, "IF " Tebow has developed lets trade Foles to the Chiefs...and let Tebow back up VICK. Did I say that would happen? No. Do I think Dixon will replace Vick? No. But you can't tell me that the possibility of that happening doesn't exist. Like bigsexy said, Kelly knows Dixon and if he feels he can win with Dixon over Vick and Foles, why wouldn't he go with Dixon?
Why would they still pay Vick up to $10M if they weren't planning on him as the incumbent starter come week 1? It's his job to lose, and if Kelly didnt like him, they would've just planned to release him.
dixon definitely doesnt suck i really liked him, i thought he could have been someone but he was useless in arians offense. He could be a CK like guy and he ran Kelleys offense to perfection at oregon
