Detroit Tigers third baseman Miguel Cabrera has left the Tigers' game against the Chicago White Sox in the fifth inning with a sore left hip flexor muscle.

He will be re-evaluated Tuesday and is day-to-day.

Detroit manager Jim Leyland said the Tigers are going to "wait and see" on Cabrera's condition.

"You know what? If he's got to miss a few games, he's got to miss a few games, and we find out how tough we are," Leyland said.

Cabrera, who became baseball's first Triple Crown winner in 45 years last season, has played in 97 of Detroit's 98 games this year.

Cabrera appeared to slow up when he was scoring on a two-run single by Victor Martinez. He came out to play third base in the bottom half of the inning and seemed fine before leaving the field with trainer Kevin Rand after Paul Konerko's one-out fly out to right field.
