The Tigers haven't made an official announcement, but manager Jim Leyland said he expects Peralta will rejoin the team when he has completed serving his 50-game suspension. "I assume, I don't know if this is a fact, but I'll assume that he'll probably join us in Miami," he said. Leyland was not willing to say whether Peralta, 31, will be activated and added to a potential postseason roster. Peralta was suspended as part of baseball's investigation into Biogenesis of America, a Florida anti-aging clinic accused of distributing banned performance-enhancing drugs. A free agent after this season, Peralta is eligible to return on Sept. 27. He has been working out with the Tigers since last Wednesday and will continue to work out this week before reporting to Lakeland on Wednesday to play in the instructional league.
