I wonder what Jeff thinks of Thome leaving the White Sox

Well, they don't have a DH in the NL, so I guess they traded for a late inning pinch hitter.

Doyers. What the hell is Thome gonna do? 1st base? What do they do with Loney? I guess he'll end up like Juan Pierre eh?

Thome won't play the field, he will be purely a pinch hitter.

Doesn't matter. He was a good Royal and a friend of my cousins in KC.

He and Lidge are in a bad streak this year. Hopefully, Thome doesn't get on that streak with the Dodgers.

Sounds like the Dodgers are trying to ice a WS trophy. It's been a long time.

Mike Oxlong nailed it right on the head. Thome really isn't first base material anymore, theres no DH in the NL. So that limits him to pinch hitting. Other then that, I don't see how Thome fits in with the Dodgers.

Honestly, i'm not mad. I knew Thome's days on the south side were numbered anyway.

not really, Thome isn't going to be a missing piece, he is just a pinch hitter off the bench that could just as likiely strike out than hit a home run. Their pitching is right on par with the Dodgers of recent history, tanking at the end. Garlands career record against the Phillies and Cardinals is 0-6 with an ERA over 7.

Yeah im happy to hear this. But Oxlong is right hes pretty much going to be a pinch hitter coming of the bench maybe a spot start here and there but thats it. I doubt we got Garland to pitch to the phillies or Cardinals He is more to help the regular season ptching than anything. Billingsley,Kershaw,Kuroda,Wolf maybe even Haeger are ahead of him in a playoff rotation.
