Dolphins wide receivers Brian Tyms, who attended Dillard, and Marvin McNutt highlight the team’s eight-man practice squad, which was announced Monday morning.

Among others on the unit are tight end Kyle Miller, center Sam Brenner, cornerback De’Andre Presley, defensive tackle Al Lapuaho, safety Jordan Kovacs, and offensive tackle Jason Weaver.

The addition of Tyms, McNutt and Miller provides depth at two positions in which the Dolphins badly need quality backups.

The Dolphins only kept four wide receivers on their 53-man roster after Saturday’s cuts – starters Mike Wallace, Brandon Gibson and Brian Hartline and reserve Rishard Matthews.

The Dolphins have three tight ends – starter Charles Clay and reserves Michael Egnew and Dion Sims.
