The Miami Dolphins released veteran tailback Larry Johnson on Tuesday, cutting the seven-year veteran for the second time in 17 days according to Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Johnson, who was added two weeks ago as insurance because of the hamstring injury Daniel Thomas was nursing, fell short of impressing the coaching staff during his two week tryout. Johnson didn’t play in the season-opener against the Patriots, and got just one carry in Sunday’s loss to the Houston Texans, rushing for 2 yards. Source: The Red Zone
