After working with the first-team defense for much of the past couple weeks, after seemingly supplanting second-rounder Koa Misi as the Miami Dolphins' best run-stopping option at strongside linebacker, Ikaika Alama-Francis is listed as inactive for today's season-opener at Buffalo. Word is Ike is ill, but he certainly seemed to be in good health when he talked to me on Thursday and cohort Ethan Skolnick on Friday. Joining Alama-Francis on the inactives is third-quarterback Tyler Thigpen (Chad Pennington is No. 2), WR Robert Wallace, ILB Channing Crowder (as reported Saturday), DE Robert Rose, OL Jeremy Parnell, OT Lydon Murtha and DE Clifton Geathers. Newly signed KR/RB Clifton Smith is active and expected to be the primary kickoff returner.
