Dolphins owner Stephen Ross is still livid that state lawmakers quashed a public referendum that would have asked voters to authorize a one-cent increase in Miami Dade County’s hotel bed tax to fund $350 million in Sun Life Stadium renovations ant reportedly cost him $10 million.

Politico reported this morning that Ross has created a PAC called Florida Jobs First that will raise money for Gov. Rick Scott’s reelection and also campaign against politicians on both sides of the aisle — including politicians that were against the stadium plan.

Ross and other Dolphins officials blamed House GOP speaker Will Weatherford for allowing the bill to die before it went to a vote in the state House and before it went to voters.

Mailers have already gone out against Miami-area state Reps. Jose Felix Diaz and Carlos Trujillo who face reelection next year.

The attack piece against Trujillo accused the Republican lawmaker of blocking “big tourist events like the Super Bowl from returning to Miami†and losing out on 4,000 local jobs, Mazzei reported.

“Miami was passed over for future Super Bowls — taking hundreds of millions of tourism dollars that would’ve been spent with businesses here in Miami, to benefit businesses in San Francisco and Houston instead,†the mailer read.
