Miami Dolphins quarterback Chad Pennington has a torn capsule in his throwing shoulder and is awaiting a second opinion, ESPN's Chris Mortenson reports via Twitter. Pennington is expected to miss the rest of the season, as we told you earlier today, Pennington's shoulder was dislocated on Sunday. The injury happened when San Diego Chargers linebacker Kevin Burnett hit Pennington underneath the shoulder as he was trying to throw a pass, Pennington will seek a second opinion from orthopedic specialist Dr. James Andrews, who has performed two shoulder surgeries on the quarterback. that really sucks. he was a classy underrated QB who had to deal with injuries his entire career. best of luck to him
this may be the best thing that could have happened to miami Henne is going to be a really good pro he was a steal in the draft he fell becuase of a injury and the lackluster play the team had his last season not becuase of his talent
I watched the game yesterday and the Dolphins playcalling showed no confidence in Henne whatsoever. At times it looked like the Wildcat was the base offense and Henne was in as a disguise rather than a threat with throwing the ball. I think the Phins are toast for the year...
ok, this makes more sense. i just saw a thread that said the phins expected pennington to play sunday but it was posted 2 hours before this one and before the MRI results came in.
Damn man, after the season he had last year, that blows. Both of my Marshall QB's lose their crap the same day, Byron due to poor play, and Chad due to injury... that crap sucks. Best Wishes to Chad.
Great guy, hope the best for him, but i'm afraid it will be tough to recover from a third shoulder injury.
