A source is telling Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald that the Dolphins have just cut running back Larry Johnson. The move is not exactly a huge surprise but its importance does speak to Miami's current running back situation and what the Dolphins think of it. Johnson played well in the final preseason game and there was thinking he might beat out Lex Hilliard for the final RB job based on his experience and history as a solid player. But that didn't stand, particularly given the fact he was with the team about two weeks. Source: Miami Herald
The signing really made no sense in the first place other than a veteran to take some carries in the preseason and hope they strike gold. If they were looking for a well seasoned veteran back, they could've re-signed Williams or Brown.
I know...but are they happy with Thomas as the back up or do you think they might want a seasoned guy back there? I still don't know why they let Brown and Williams go... If something happens to Bush, all their stock is in a 2nd round rookie. I think that's where he was picked...maybe I have that mixed up. I happen to like Thomas...
Thomas has made progress. I feel comfortable with him. Williams and Brown didn't want to take a backup role/less money.
The Dolphins are my favorite NFL team today (having just heard the news about Johnson). King of the World in KC relegated to watching his cell for a call from his agent is just the best.
I was watching the decade of Hard Knocks on HBO last night and they had the Chiefs when LJ held out. What a douche this guy is. I'm sure he'll end up as the star of the Virginia Destroyers.
