A source with the Miami Dolphins has reported to the Miami Herald that Dolphins’ Quarterback Ryan Tannehill is still in the mix for the starting job. Tannehil was selected 8th overall by the Miami Dolphins. There is much speculation that suggests that Tannehill was simply a “projectâ€￾ for development until recently. A source from the Dolphins’ camp has said that they want Tannehill signed as soon as possible, so that he will not fall too far behind veterans. Tannehill must compete with David Garrard and Matt Moore, who are simply ushers for the quarterback of the future that the Dolphins are looking for.

How bad is the qbs in Miami when a rookie qb that is holding out and played the position for 19 or so games in college can still be in the running to be the starter. Maybe Bush will have to lead the league in rushing.

First he isn't holding out really, second, the Miami Herald is known for spitting crap to create buzz and angst to make people read the paper. Tannehill knows the offense but isn't used to the speed. That's the only thing he has going for him this year.

Garrard will be the opening day starter

Don't for get brush you hair 30-40 times. I'm just saying when it comes to info from the Miami Herald, take it with a grain of salt. I'm sure there are terrible reporters where you're at too.

Better or worse than Lou Holtz? Because Tannehill isn't going to start anytime soon, but him being familiar with the offense puts him in a state where all he really needs is to refine his skills to the speed of the game.

I hope so. He is just really learning the position. Maybe he will come in and shine. For the Dolphin's sake I hope so. Only time will tell. I do know this. He really needs to be in camp right now. Quarterbacks who played the position their whole life that comes in late has trouble. That is all I am saying. Regardless of knowing the offense.

Then it wouldn't be so bad then. But if it continues any longer then there could be trouble if he has to play this year. Dude only played 19 games as a qb in college.

The only way I see him playing this year is if it's week 16 and the Dolphins have 1 win.

I hope so. But you never know. There could be a rash of injuries with the qbs. I hope not.

I bow down to you sir. Glad to see him sign finally. Thought this rookie wage scale was supposed to take care of this. But the agents found out new language to make them more money. And by more money I mean the agents.
