The Miami Dolphins waived Ryan Durand a week after signing the veteran offensive guard. The Dolphins signed the three-year starter at Syracuse last Tuesday and waived him Tuesday afternoon, creating a vacancy on the team's 53-man roster. What that spot will be used for is unclear, but the Dolphins (5-6) do need special teams help to finish the season Miami allowed Seahawks return specialist Leon Washington to score on a 98-yard kickoff return in last Sunday's 24-21 win over the Seattle, and it was the second special teams touchdown Miami had allowed in two weeks. The Dolphins have a number of other needs - from tight end and receiver to cornerback - and its possible (but unlikely) that Miami could place a waiver wire claim on Eagles defensive end Jason Babin, who was waived by Philadelphia on Tuesday.
