Hey, I have a 12 team league with requirements (1QB, 2RB, 2WR but then 2 flex(RB/WR/TE) and a team D. What's the best way to enter that into the sheet development? Thanks
I believe you do it as 3 wr and 3 rb. You can't know for sure who will use what as their flex, could be 18 wr and 6 rb. But this way it will show up as having the extra 24 players to get the values more correct. If I recall that's what @Kurt suggests.
yup that is the way to enter it. IF You entered 3 TE's you will find the TE shoot up in value. so better stay away from that.
I assume your flex can be the same position? Or can you not have 4 running backs starting at the same time by using 2 running backs at the flex? If you can start 4 RBs or 4 WRs at one time, I would even go up to 4 on running backs and wide receivers. That will give you 48 running backs and 48 wide receivers. There will still be some tempting sleeper value especially considering your other owners are going to add as many backs and receivers. You'll want to get as many of those guys listed as possible on your cheat sheet. That's what I do. Having that many players listed includes the WR1s, WR2s, WR3, WR4, etc. Same for backs. Listing 2 tight ends gives you 24 total, that's enough. Especially since you only need to start 1. Chances of you starting 2 is fairly remote since the value of tight ends drops dramatically past the top 14-16. Am I off base?
all good advice from you guys, hit it on the head.. You don't know how the draft will unfold so you CAN NOT say in round 1 that you'll take a RB in round 5 for the flex.. that just don't make sense.. it all depends on who will lose you the least amount of points. In the video below, replace "big board" with "cheat sheet" - and replace "power rating" with value" - same concepts -
We do not have to draft a TE at all but can use one in the flex spot. I could start 4WR and 2 RB or any combo but 2 is required at each position. If that changes anything let me know.
I glanced over that. I would put in 5 or even 6 rb/we then. And still probably 1 te. They will have some value as a late flex2 but you would likely be better off using as many we and rb as possible. Only Graham and maybe Thomas seem draftable to me as a te in your league.
just put in 1 TE - 3 WR - 3 RB and go to town. this is a good average.. don't focus so much on the flex... just draft the position which has the largest drop off in points at "next value" - this ensure you don't wait on a position when it's replacement value (next value) is much lower than the other possible position. example: John RB - Value 60 - ADP 20 - Next Value 20 ADP 34 (the replacement value for John RB is minus 40 - see that?) Jim WR - Value 40 - ADP 21 - Next Value 36 ADP 36 (the replacement value for Jim WR is minus 4 - see that?) This means draft John RB - because the next guy that you'll be looking at is projected to score 40 points less... where as at Jim WR, you can have someone that will score nearly as many points but is available a full round later!
