Cut by the Buffalo Bills, veteran defensive tackle Marcus Stroud has a new NFL home. Stroud agreed to a two-year contract with the New England Patriots, according to ESPN. The three-time Pro Bowl selection was due $4.5 million in 2011. Stroud recorded 7 1/1 sacks in three seasons with the Bills, three of them recorded last season as he posted 49 tackles. He didn't make a smooth transition to the Bills' 3-4 scheme following a trade from the Jacksonville Jaguars.

I thought no new signings could be done until the CBA is done?

I don't hate the move. He's not going to be a starter and I'd rather have a burnt out Stroud for dline depth than rely on guys like Landon Cohen and Atiyaah Ellison. Apparently he's a great lockerroom guy and leader too.

I still expect NE to draft a dlineman with one of their top picks
