ok, so it's clear the eagles are cleaning house and going young. very young. taking a look at the roster as it is right now it seems obvious that defense should be the priority in this year's draft. in particular the db's and lb's & de. i want taylor mays. you know the eagles won't go lb in the 1st round so it makes sense to go after a db. of course the eagles will probably go draft an OT. what are your thoughts ?
Are you comfortable with a RB tandem of L.McCoy and M.Bell at RB? I'm not 100% sold on that and I'm betting that NFL defensive coordinators are going to step back and cover the pass and take their chances with those RBs. Although, I'd agree that the defense needs an overhaul. Taylor Mays may or may not be the answer, but I would go with defense on the first three picks at 24, 37 and 55. Come to think about it, maybe the Eagles can package two of those picks and move up early to in the first round to pick Eric Berry or mid-round for Earl Thomas.
i feel very comfortable with mccoy, bell & weaver. defenses can try to drop back and that's when kolb will check down to the te and rb's who all have proven they do something with the ball when it's out in their hands. i don't know if we can move up enough for berry but i think mays may be there. we need a stud back there and i think he'd fit nicely. if they do decide to go cb then thomas wouldn't be a bad choice. either way they need to go db in the 1st round.
I think DB is the answer for you guys in round one. Im not a Mays fan at all. To me he will be another Roy Williams in the NFL. Earl Thomas will be a much better Safety. Josh Wilson the CB from Boise would be a a solid pick as well.
i'd go with thomas no prblem if it meant not having to move up as far. i say s, olb, db again some guys that are due to workout for the eagles. Eagles | Meet with D. Kyle Wilson sounds good. I'm also less than a fan of Mays, I think you could go Morgan Burnett or Nate Allen later and do better as far has having a true safety and not someone who is going to end up playing like a linebacker if not actually becoming one. I also wouldn't be surprised at all if they went after Blount, Dixon or Gerhart later on and get a talented young banger to go with McCoy.
Mays is dogcrap, Smeagle. And I'm one of the rare USC backers on this board. No way in hell he makes a good pro. Needs: LB, LB, LB, CB, DE, S, OL. My man crushes from this draft: CJ Spiller Jerry Hughes Earl Thomas Rolando McClain Mike Iupati Jason Pierre-Paul Jermaine Gresham Sean WItherspoon Jonathan Dwyer Greg Hardy Toby Gerhart Jermaine Gresham
bradley is good. the question is will he bounce back next year after that injury or not be back to form until 2011. if there is a 2011.
