Fair or not, Nnamdi Asomugha's arrival in Philadelphia was met with the bar being set exceedingly high for the two-time All-Pro, not to mention the Eagles. And almost as fast as an unruly Philadelphia crowd can turn on Santa Claus, Asomugha finds himself caught in the middle of a whirlwind of unrealized expectations. Eagles defensive coordinator Juan Castillo is taking the heat in stride and attempted Thursday to deflect some of the criticism from his star cornerback, whom everyone anointed as the gem of the 2011 free-agent market. "Nnamdi is human," was part of Castillo's explanation. Asomugha offered up little in the way of excuses Thursday while discussing a defense that has lost fourth-quarter leads in three of its four games. "Truth of the matter is there's a growth process. We've been in that growth process since we've started," Asomugha told the team's official website. "We have the talent, but being a great defense doesn't happen overnight. We've got to make it work. Our goal is to win it all. We don't have that much time to try to figure it out. It's got to be figured out." Source: NFL.com
