To retain Michael Vick for 2010, the Philadelphia Eagles must pay the part-time quarterback a seven-figure option bonus by March 5, and even in an uncapped season (as next year is expected to be), that's an awful lot of money for owner Jeff Lurie to ante up for a guy who played so sparingly this season. ESPN.com has confirmed the two sides could meet as early as next week to begin dialogue toward a resolution of Vick's status for 2010. Vick has made it clear he would like a legitimate shot at an NFL starting job in some team's training camp next summer. Source: ESPN
There really is no question as to what is going to happen here. 'Mike, you're welcome for the opportunity. Pack your bags, we are trading you to the highest bidder.'
i wonder who is going to step up in trade talks when everyone knows they will not keep him ? teams can just wait for him to be cut.
