Eagles Discussing Trading LB Chris Gocong To The Browns

According to an NFL source with knowledge of the situation, the Eagles have held preliminary discussions with the Cleveland Browns about trading outside linebacker Chris Gocong to the AFC North franchise. No deal is imminent, but The National Football Post been told authoritatively that the rumors are more than mere rumors and that talks are expected to continue heading into the NFL draft. Gocong is regarded as a good fit for the Browns' 3-4 scheme.

We still have too many LBs with ambiguous situations/positions

 

a bunch of mid-grade LBs

 

Right that's my point, we need one good guy, not more o.k. ones. Whether he could be that I do not know.

 

gocong should be playing rushing LB on a 3-4 defense.

 

He was a college DE so transitioning to 4-3 OLB is hard!

Worth a try though, he is athletic enough.
