After the draft, Cardinals General Manager Rod Graves said the team received two firm trade offers for receiver Anquan Boldin. Graves declined to reveal either offer, but Bears GM Jerry Angelo told local reporters that he offered a second-round pick. The Eagles also made an offer, according to an NFL source, a third-round pick and starting cornerback Sheldon Brown. Source: Arizona Republic
After going thru Boldin's public outcry demanding a trade, i doubt the Cards are willing to swap him for another whinner like Brown, even with the lowball 3rd thrown in.
Did anyone actually think they would trade Boldin in the first place? I never thought that for a second. Especially with 2 years left on a cheap contract.
I wouldn't really call this an effort by the Eagles to get Boldin... Why in the world would they offer Brown when the Cardinals just signed McFadden...it's rather pointless imo. Maybe they're just throwing crap at the wall hoping it will stick... I don't think the Cardinals were actively looking to move Boldin either. Wonder who called who first...
I think the Eagles probably threw that offer out just to see if the Cards wanted to talk. Reid pretty much said that the Cards weren't really looking to move Boldin.
