Eagles QB Donovan McNabb Says He Wants To Return In 2010

Eagles QB Donovan McNabb reiterated that he wants to return for a 12th season in Philadelphia after a season-ending, 34-14 playoff loss in Dallas. "I've said it ever year. I want to be here, and I don't look to be anywhere else," McNabb said. Head coach Andy Reid, who recently got a contract extension, said he expects McNabb to return as the starter in 2010. "Yeah, I do," he said. McNabb did say they he would like an extension to the contract that ends after next season. "Would I like to extend and be here? Yes. Absolutely," McNabb said. "But there are a lot more other things I think we can focus in on right now. If that was to come up, then so be it."

With Kolb looking good this season, its a tough call

The way I see it in terms of 2011

McNabb is capable of leading a the Eagles to a 12-4 season

Kolb is capable of the leading the Eagles to 10-6

Vick, I dont see any better than 7-9

 

QB doesn't dictate the record necessarily. There are other factors. Like Defense, Special Teams, a RUNNING GAME, which Philly MUST utilize in 2010 to be competitive.

 

Mcnabb is GONE .. Kolb and Vick will compete for the starting QB Job.. and if Kolb can beat a 3 time ProBowl Top Paid NFL PLayer QB.. Mike Vick.... then Kolb deserves the job, I dont see Kolb EVER beating out Vick..

 

QB doesnt but a QB has a HUGE impact on the overall teams success

The way I see it, Kolb gets this team to the playoffs most likely. But at this stage in his and McNabb's career I dont think the teams ceiling as a whole is as high with Kolb as McNabb

The Eagles wont win 8 games with Vick

They are a WCO team. What part of Vicks game makes you believe he can thrive in a WCO.

 

I still got love for 5 i dont want his time in philly to be done he just pisses me off sometimes. He should lose some weight this offseason when he runs for more then 10 yards he pulls a muscle and i think he wears down during games.

 

Vick would improve the Eagles if you just give him a SOLID CHANCE as a starter..... Vick has shown improvement .. his passing skills have improved BIG TIME. Defenses cant Blitz Vick like they do Mcnabb.... They "Try" to contain him . and we all know why.

Dude will place the ball on a 7 yard slant 20 yards down field

 

Send this dude packing. I've been tired of him for two years. It is clear to me this guy does not have 'it'. He is not the guy that can shoulder the load for his team. He is indecisive as a mother hecker in the pocket. He throws dirt balls. He throws balls behind the receivers. He can not stand in the pocket and deliver an accurate strike with it collapsing.

Done. Trade him. Appreciate everything he and Westbrook did for the team, but it's a new day.

Note: these are not assumptions or opinions gathered on the last two games, so before you chime in with the 'Oh geez, you should be grateful you have a qb who got you that far!' or 'he's so good and you don't even know how spoiled you are with him!', realize these are thoughts that have been dancing in my head for years.

I hate to quote Bruce Allen, but the status quo is not freaking enough for me. I'm tired of the playoffs. I'm tired of trying to feel happy just making the playoffs. The Eagles need to hoist a Lombardi, and McNabb will not be the quarterback to do it. Not in this offense. Perhaps if he were a game manager in a run first offense, but sure as hell not in a WCO.

 

I want McNugget off my team. I want my team to have a shot at winning a championship.

 

Im not gonna bash 5 hes lead us to many winning seasons we will see what happens if its kolbs time then its kolbs time if not then mcnabb is gonna have to step up next year.

 

I think these are purdy. McNabb has not led us to one of these. And he never will. I want one of these.

Well you can say we have gotten close a hell of alot. If we let mcnabb go its basicly starting over were not gonna have a chance at one of those for a good while.

Kolb isnt exactly crap, and if he cant win now with whats around him, you guys are hecked long term as far as QB's go

 

He is pretty good but needs to work on his turnovers still. Even in his good games the picks were there. It is starting over because i dont think kolb will be a superbowl level QB for a good while. He could be decent winning seasons but against the top teams dont see him doing much better then mcnabb.

 

What has McNabb gotten you?

You guys burned a high second on Kolb, his contract doesnt last forever. He is heading into his 4th year in the NFL. What are you gonna do, let him sit, then walk, star somewhere else, while an aging McNabb is taking you guys nowhere and you have nothing behind him
