The Eagles seemingly meaningless preseason opener gained meaning in the second quarter when Michael Vick hit his throwing hand against a helmet and left the field winicng in pain. Vick struck his left hand on the back of center Jason Kelce’s helmet on an errant 3rd-and-8 throw. The Eagles playmaking QB almost immediately grabbed his hand as he walked off the field. He wouldn’t return as backup Mike Kafka stepped in on the Eagles next drive. Vick completed three of four passes for six yards and a 77.1 passing rating. Vick remained on the sideline and appeared to have his left thumb in a cup of ice as he watched the backups do their thing. Source: NBC 10 Philadelphia
