Eagles QB Vince Young Planning On Challenging To Start

Joining fellow Eagles at training camp in Bethlehem, Pa., new Eagles QB Vince Young made a weighty declaration to the media. "Dream team," Young told reporters. "From Nnamdi [Asomugha] to [Dominique Rodgers-] Cromartie, to Jason [Babin] to myself. I know they are going to do some more things. . . . It's just beautiful to see where we're trying to go." Young, who is expected to back up Michael Vick, says he plans on challenging the incumbent starter. "We're going to compete, and that's what we do," Young said Saturday in comments sent to media by the team. "It's going to make him play better and it's going to make me get better. That's what we have to do, and I have his back. Whatever happens, if I get a chance to get out there, I know he'll do the same."

He was most likely reading a prepared statement. I don't think Vince could put that much of a thought together without some help.

 

The only way he sees the field is if Vick gets hurt.
