Comcast is reporting that Brian Westbrook is suffering from a dreaded high (right) ankle sprain that could keep him off the field for some time, though he "should be ready for the start of the season." His agent, Todd France, told ESPN that Westbrook will have surgery to clean out bone spurs in the ankle but that the procedure "has nothing to do with the high ankle sprain." Westbrook, who had surgery on his left knee this offseason, had problems with the right ankle last season, too, and missed a Week 4 loss at Chicago because of it.

I really hope that he doesn't have both a high ankle sprain and bone spurs. Bone spurs, not too big of a deal, high ankle sprain...ughh.

I believe he aggravated it at the OTAs but you do make a good point. They should have been cfreaking that ankle from every possible angle the second they lost to Arizona

I hope him playing injured all last season doesn't reflect on the 2009 season. The Eagles are going to need him to be healthy for their NFC Push...

Lorenzo Booker is what he is and McCoy is an unknown...

The guy is a warrior he plays through the injury's. Atleast this one is minor and early.

ok, i'm a big westbrook fan but i have to say his offseason of surgeries is beginning to worry me. you never know how surgeries are going to impact a running back. I hope he's not going to go downhill quickly. he's always been fun to watch.

    Source: Westbrook's Surgery Is Serious

The surgery Brian Westbrook will undergo Friday morning in Baltimore is a serious procedure, according to a source close to the situation. "I'm just concerned that it is being underplayed," the source said. "It's a lot more than a little spur and it's much more than the knee arthroscopy he had (in February)."

I can't say I won't miss him because I certainly wont, he single handily kills us each year, but I do hope he gets better, no matter how serious the injury it is.
