Head coach Andy Reid announced on Tuesday that wide receiver DeSean Jackson fractured multiple ribs up high in his chest during Monday night's game against Carolina and will be placed on Injured Reserve, ending his 2012 season.

Reid also said that offensive tackle Jason Peters will not be activated from the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list. He, too, will be placed on Injured Reserve. Peters suffered a ruptured Achilles in the offseason, which he injured again shortly after surgery. Tuesday was the deadline to activate Peters from the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list.

Jackson was having a solid season and giving more effort than he has in a long time. Our line can't stop a defensive rush for more than two seconds so you take Jackson's biggest asset away from him. He was still on pace for something like 65 catches and 1,100 yards.

I'm glad it was his ribs and not anything that could be a much bigger problem in his future.
