"Economics" Of New CBA Between NFL Owners, Players Completed

Discussion in 'NFL General Discussion' started by BigBlueBruiser, Jul 15, 2011.

  1. Albert Breer of NFL Network reports the "economics" of a labor agreement between the owners and players are "done" outside of a few "ancillary" issues. In other words, the I's have been dotted and T's crossed on the rookie salary system and salary cap. Breer cautions that "there are still plenty of other hoops for the sides to jump through," so this does not mean that the lockout will be lifted Friday. Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk suspects the owners may have one last stalling tactic up their sleeve to see if the players will give in at the goal-line.

But if all the i's are dotted and t's crossed, if the NFLPA can get a ruling, free agents and rookies could be signed before the lockout is lifted. The only question then would be what to do with the tags...
