The notion of Marvin Harrison going to the Vikings got us wondering about another unattached ex-Colt who's on the back-nine of a very good career, Edgerrin James. James, who turns 31 in August, did get an offer from a team earlier this offseason, according to Rosenhaus. The agent wouldn't reveal which club but declared, "We will be selective. We want to make sure for Edge that he goes to a good situation. He would like an opportunity to have a significant role and a great opportunity for playing time. We may wait until right before camp and see what teams have the greatest need. We may wait until during or after camps when teams are dealing with injuries."

would love to see him get picked up by the Eagles, but I think he wants to be the #1 guy somewhere

I think Edge wants a legitamit shot at a ring so Eagles are out of the question.:icon_cheesygrin:

Seriously I think he would work for the Eagles as a TD getter and a possible mentor for McCoy on how to be a real running back not just a receiver out of the back field.

Are you trying to hate on westbrook because hes alot more than a receiver out of the backfield.06 and 07 he averaged almost 5 yards a carry.

As for james he could be an option as the 2nd back if hes willing to be the 2nd guy. Westbrook is still going to get the bulk of the carries.

I like Westbrook, but when was the last time he was actually healthy a full season? How many times does he actually run the ball up the gut and not shoot for the outside? Giving Westbrook the bulk of the carries is fine, but he should be kept to a limit to try and keep him as close to 100% for the playoffs if you ever want to see the Eagles bring a championship to Philly.

True he hasent had a full healthy season. In 06 he was a beast the whole year and the playoffs. He doesent even get a huge amount of carries cause we are a pass first team. 07 was his most at 278 but i see what your saying. We had buck last season but seemed to not want to use him. He would barley play and when he did he would break big runs.

and it would be good insurance for Westbrook's ankle

I don't see edge having the opportunity to be as selective as he'd like...that being said I can see him signing with a team like the 49ers, as Gore doesn't have a solid guy to spell him

I like the guy, but he just can't break long runs anymore. It will be hard for him to land a spot on a contending team and get significant touches. I doubt he would want to play in a cold weather city, but his short choppy stride was pretty effective in those cold-weather road games at the end of the season. I know there was talk of him going to the Saints, but I think he would be a great fit for the Bears.

I think he want a chance to be a starter, he feels the way he played at the end of the season and the playoffs proves his point. I think right now he is going to have to wait and see if someone gets hurts in preseason.

he played well at the end of the season, because he was fresh from not being the #1 guy and getting a lot of featured back carries

Y would he start over Kevin Smith. Smith had a very good rookie year considering the line he played behind.

Maybe Minn? They seem to be interested in players that are past their prime this offseason.

Isn't he an equal of Jamal Lewis? And he found no problem finding a job.
