Hi Guys, I have Ellington in one league, and not in another. The league I do....I think my play is to just hang tight. From what I am feeling owners in my leagues aren't interested. Total outcast. The league I don't (12 team, 0.5ppr)...I'm starting to think he would be a good buy. I know for a fact the owner hates him and would sell low. At his current market value you could probably get away with a low range flex, or even a high ceiling bench player. I know with 100% certainty that Tevin Coleman would grab me Ellington, which is crazy considering their ADPs only one NFL week ago. What's crazier is that I think i would rather have Coleman. I just picked up BRANDON Coleman and I could probably even work him into the deal. So I guess the question is "How many games could he play"? Do we think he suits up 6 times? 8 times? 10 times? He played 12 last year and finished #19 in points scored in my league (0.5ppr). He also carried the rock over 200 times. Bottom line is that when he plays, he seems to stay busy. He will average you over 20 touches. If Palmer turns on, Ellington has the hands to stay on the field. I apologies for the long rant, but I just need to know if I am crazy for thinking the early injury to Ellington may make him a pretty good early season trade target. Thanks as always.
wait you used my cheat sheets and drafting Ellington? DOH! I should just remove that dude, he can't keep it together. Kind of like Demarco Murry before leading the NFL last year................. dot dot dot Anyway, Ellington is a buy REAL low if someone is in panic mode. That's it. I would not drop him and chances are you won't be able to trade him in your other league even if he start ripping off 20 point games.
Just for the contrarian view... I actually like both Colemans a lot. But let's focus on Tevin: 20 carries in the Falcons offense? Sign me up? I think Ellington is a good buy low but if Coleman is your Rb3 or lower then I'd be intrigued enough by week one to hold onto him and at least see one more game.
