    Veteran safety Glenn Earl has been released by the Chicago Bears, Scout.com has confirmed. Earl's agent, Craig Domann, told local reporters that the veteran defensive back plans to retire. According to a league source, Earl signed a one-year, $535,000 deal earlier this year with the Bears that didn't include a signing bonus.
