Marvin Harrison's first venture into the NFL's free-agent market has entered its seventh week, and there are no indications the former Indianapolis Colts standout receiver is close to a deal. The Colts did not rule out Harrison returning, but that might be awkward. Not only would he be making significantly less money, but he also would likely play behind Reggie Wayne and Anthony Gonzalez. He should retire, but I find it a little surprising that he's drawing 'No Interest.' None at all? No phone calls?
I think its time for him to call it a career. I dont think anyone wants him. cause of age and his tedness to get injured
while i agree with the sentiment that he 'is' Marvin Harrison and is probably worth $1 million a year as an on-the-field coach/mentor to a team with some young receivers, I can't help but wonder what HE actually thinks he's worth per year to someone? Maybe he's getting offers in the $1-2 million per year range and he thinks he's still worth $5 or more?
Even if he thought his price was too high, this article makes it sound like no one is offering him anything, not even contacting him...
maybe his agent had put the word out to all of the teams of what their asking price was and it was too high?
Whenever you see shots of Marvin on the bench, he's sitting by himself, with no player within 10 feet of him. If you didn't see him at the Super Bowl news event a few years back, chances are you've never seen him speak into a camera. I don't think he'd jump at the opportunity to schooling a young receiver group.
