Charles Rogers claims Charles Rogers finally gets it, finally is ready to make the commitment needed to fulfill his promise as an NFL player. "There's nothing concrete (about the NFL), just speculative," Rogers said. "But if a team gives me a tryout, I know I'm going to be ready. I'm in better shape now than I was before." According to Rogers, the change in attitude came two months ago, about the same time he finished a month in jail for testing positive for alcohol and for falsifying Alcoholics Anonymous records. Rogers doesn't know if he has 4.28 time again, but he said he feels stronger and faster than he has since his rookie season. "I'm still young," Rogers said. "I know my next shot might be my last shot. I definitely want to see what Charles Rogers is made of," Rogers said. "I want to see if Charles Rogers can pull this off." I'm sort of surprised that some team didn't sign him based on his name and draft position alone. I guess that's what happens when you break a collarbone twice and then get rung up on substance abuse... His workouts must've been horrendous...
If i got the breaks(no-pun) that he did in NFL im fairly sure id hit the bottle early and often aswell. I hope he can make something of any opportunity he gets.
He had issues in college with his QB Smoker (lol, smokers literally) also.......I agree he had soo much potential but he was just too fragile
the pats worked him out awhile back and signed gaffney instead...ton of potential not enough commitment, odds are after a few years of no football he can't play in the nfl. if he were smart he'd find a UFL team, try to light up that league then maybe get a realistic shot
