Former Oakland Raiders defensive end Anthony Wayne Smith, who is already awaiting a retrial on a murder charge resulting from a 2008 incident, has been charged with three other murders. According to the Long Beach (Calif.) Press-Telegram, the criminal complaint accuses Smith of being responsible for the killings of Kevin and Ricky Nettles on Nov. 10, 1999 and the killing of Dennis Henderson on June 25, 2001. The criminal complaint also alleges that the victims were tortured, according to the newspaper. "This came as quite a surprise," defense attorney Michael S. Evans, who represented Smith in his first trial, told the newspaper. Smith is also accused of kidnapping Nettles and Henderson to commit a robbery. Source: NFL.com
