The Atlanta Falcons today agreed to terms with defensive back Brian Williams. Williams, 5-11, 202 pounds, enters his eighth season in the NFL having previously played with the Minnesota Vikings (2002-05) and Jacksonville Jaguars (2006-08). Last season, Williams started all 16 games and compiled 89 tackles and two interceptions while adding seven passes defensed. "Brian Williams is a veteran player who gives us versatility in the secondary with the ability to play both cornerback and safety," said Falcons General Manger Thomas Dimitroff. "Adding Brian to our roster is consistent with our plan to improve our team when the opportunity presents itself."
