One day after linebacker Robert James' four-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy, the Atlanta Falcons placed him waivers. Now that James has cleared waivers, the Falcons have re-signed the 2008 fifth-round pick to their practice squad. Rookie running back Shawnbrey McNeal has been released from the practice squad to make room for James. James spent his first season on injured reserve, and has yet to appear in a regular season NFL game. The 5-10, 218-pounder has 17 tackles and a quarterback sack during pre-season action with the Falcons.
