Falcons coach Mike Smith said Wednesday that he expects receiver Roddy White to be back for the regular season opener, per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Smith refuted a radio report that said the receiver's injury to his ankle was a high ankle sprain, which would mean he would miss more time than with a normal ankle injury. If the Falcons' explosive offense is to kick into high gear early, it will need White on the opposite side of Julio Jones to make defenses pick and choose which player to key on, giving Matt Ryan plenty of options and ways to exploit opposing secondaries.
