Four balls usually earns you a walk at a baseball game, but for Greg Van Niel it added up to one remarkable day at the ballpark. Van Niel caught four foul balls at the Indians' 6-4 win over the Kansas City Royals on Sunday. A season ticket holder, Van Niel actually wasn't in his usual seats on this unusual day. "We weren't in our actual season ticket seats [Sunday]," Van Niel told ESPN. "We were one section over and it happened to be the lucky section [Sunday]." The Indians caught up with Greg during the game and he posed for a picture while displaying three of his souvenirs. Found him: Tribe Season Ticket Holder Greg Niel has caught four foul balls today. Nice work Greg! pic.twitter.com/vmiIQuwefL Van Niel, who said he'd never caught a foul ball before Sunday, explained, "I caught three of them and one was a pick-up." Source: ESPN
Re: Fan Catches Four Foul Ballas At Cleveland Indians Game yea it is pretty impressive. its tough to get 1 hit your way but to get 4 hit your way is crazy. its like 1 in 1,000,000
Re: Fan Catches Four Foul Ballas At Cleveland Indians Game I bet the odds are even way longer than that.
isn't there a guy that travels around all of the stadiums and his mission is to collect as many foul balls/home run balls that he can? i think he buys his seat strategically in each stadium to get the most balls. he has hundreds of balls at this point, if not thousands, from what i recall.
Re: Fan Catches Four Foul Ballas At Cleveland Indians Game They said on ESPN that the odds were one in a trillion.
