Hi guys, Just signed up again for now my 3rd year on here. Love this site and the insight. My first draft of the year is an interesting league. Weird settings that I'm not used to so I thought I would ask for opinions. First of all we are starting; 1 QB 2 RB 3 Flex (WR/TE) 1 Flex (WR/TE/RB) K TeamDef All TD's are worth 6 points. QB's 1 pt per 25 yards -2 for int .15 points per completion Bonus points of 4 pts for 400 yards and 8 pts for 500 yards RB 1 pt per 10 yards .25 rushing attempts .75 per reception 4 bonus points 200 yards, 8 pts for 250 yards, 10 pts for 300 yards WR 1 pt per 10 yards .75 per reception 4 bonus points 200 yards, 8 pts for 250 yards, 10 pts for 300 yards Misc 6 points for return td -.25 for a fumble -2 for fumble lost Not going to lie the completions and rush attempt numbers have thrown me for a loop. Not sure exactly how to rank QB's now with that in there. I am picking 10th in a 10 team league. Originally I was leaning towards grabbing a couple of WR's with the 10th and 11th picks. Now I'm looking at maybe Brees and what ever RB falls to me. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
10th spot should land you 2 top wide receivers, and you can start up to 4. Wait a little bit on quarterbacks, nabbing romo or cutler or luck. since quarterbacks get points per completion, a running back could fall since owners might go QB early. i can see manning and brees being gone. this could push lacy down to you. if not, i'd change the scenario and go receiver 1st and 2nd and best options at running back once you get your 3rd and 4th round picks.
I see it balanced out, QB gets approximately 20-30 completions per game @ .15 =3-4.5 extra pointsper game. RBs get 15-20 carries a game @ .25= 3.75-5 extra points per game doesn't seem like enough to really lean one way or another. Plus a receiving rb like McCoy and Charles get points every time they touch it so it will add up for them quickly. I'd just do the settings as a .5 or 1 PPR on the cheat sheet and just know that the projection points for starter rb's will be off about 68 points or so (17 carries * 16 games = 272) and qb's will be even harder to predict it always seems random how often they complete passes in a game.
Thanks for the help guys. Appreciate the advice. With the 10th and 11th pick I will just see what RB falls to me and either grab that RB and a top WR or if no top RB's then I will grab a couple top 5 WR's. Thanks!
Ok, I think I put together a decent team. RB's flew off the shelf quickly so I had to make some reaches. But all in all I think I have decent squad here. It's team 1 in my signature scoring. QB Matt Ryan Russell Wilson RB Shane Vereen Reggie Bush Ray Rice Jonathan Stewart Jeremy Hill WR Dez Bryant AJ Green Cordarelle Patterson Emmanuelle Sanders Kelvin Benjamin Brandon Cooks K Shayne Graham D Denver My running backs are extremely thin but there isn't much on the waive wire either.... Top 5 on waivers; Lagarette Blount Andre Williams Shonn Greene Ahmad Bradshaw Khiry Robinson Let me know what you guys think. Thanks again everyone!
Your receivers are strong though. Backs are going to go high since there are only 5 guys you can consider true RB1s. Charles, McCoy, AP, Forte and Lacy. Almost everyone after that has question marks. I would stand pat. You might luck out with Stewart if he can stay healthy and Hill might get more carries than we thought.
