Former Browns general manager Tom Heckert has begun talking to other teams and could have a GM job soon, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer citing league sources. A report Tuesday that he was in line to join Andy Reid in Arizona if Reid gets the Cardinals job is untrue. The Jets have scheduled interviews with Heckert and others. But Heckert might land a job even before the Jets get a crack at him. At least one other team is heavily pursuing him.

yep, heckert should land on his feet fairly quickly. he was more of a victim of new ownership just wanting to start over.

Yep. And he could've stayed, but they didnt want to let him keep final roster control, which was in his contract. I still think he's a hell of a personnel guy and will make a team as happy as I was with his performance in Cleveland for a couple years. Sad to see him go.
