Former Dolphin Jake Long has torn ACL, MCL

    St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher revealed on Monday that offensive tackle Jake Long tore both the anterior and medial collateral ligaments in his right knee during the team's Week 16 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The injury, which occurred on the Rams' opening series of Sunday's 23-13 triumph over the Buccaneers, could place Long's availability for the start of the 2014 season in question. A four-time Pro Bowl selection and the No. 1 overall pick of the 2008 NFL Draft, Long signed a four-year contract with the Rams in March after spending his first five seasons with the Dolphins. The 28-year-old started all 48 games over his first three professional campaigns, but has ended the last two on injured reserve due to a back problem and a torn biceps.
