Just three days after the Giants released him, Super Bowl XLII hero David Tyree is working out for the Baltimore Ravens today. That’s hardly a surprise since just hours after the Giants cut him, his agent fielded phone calls from both the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs about Tyree, as the Daily News reported on Saturday. It’s not known if Tyree has any workout scheduled yet with the Chiefs. Source: NYDailyNews.com
Injuries Injuries Injuries - we've already go LJ Smith as our offseason china-doll acquisition, I'm not sure that we need another one.
I was listening to Scott Garceau and Anita Marks today and this caller made a really good point about Tyree. He said that the Ravens if they sign him are not necessarily signing him to be a #3 or #4 WR, but he just a few years ago was a Pro-Bowl Special Teams player as a Gunner which is something the Ravens need.
Exactly what he is being brought in for, Special Teams, if we have an injury i think they'll promote Harper or Riley
Yes he was, but seriously the guy was the best gunner in the game just two years ago. He couldn't have dropped off that much.
I never even heard of him. Travis taylor has to be one of the most suckiest 1st Round opick WR's ever.
So we'd be bringing in a (very) injury prone special teamer/bargain receiver that we'd have to pay veterans salary - and yes Ward he was just cut for Sinorice Moss. and this guys what 29 turning? I don't like it.
No, but rumour is he was doing his physical today which is the final step before signing - so we'd be paying the vets salary if we picked him up before week 1. KC is also interested in him so I'm not sure if we'd let him go there and then see if he's still available after that, its an interesting set of circumstances but hardly the legitimate fix we need in any regard.
Wouldn't the Chiefs get the first shot at him though due to there last seasons record being worse then the Ravens?
Not as I understand it, first come first serve on a FA. Like LoNeal picking between the Ravens and the Jets, whoever offers the sweetest pot.
