Former NFL K Mike Vanderjagt Investigated For Grabbing Kid Who Taunted Him

Former NFL place-kicker and part-time coach for Marco Island’s Charter Middle School Mike Vanderjagt has been suspended and being investigated after he was accused of grabbing and screaming at a student. The incident took place on March 12 when Marco Island Police responded to a call the dean of students at the school, who reported an adult male grabbed a student by the throat. According to the police report, a student was taunting Vanderjagt by yelling “wide left, wide left,â€￾ and Vanderjagt walked up to him, grabbed him by the throat and started cursing at him. Both the student involved and another student who witnessed the incident told police the same story.

Now there's no love loss for Vanderjagt and what he did was wrong. But it sounds like there's some parenting issues going on with that kid. The parents apparently haven't taught him how to respect his elders.

i agree with grabbing the kid by the throat

 

you may want to grab a minor by the throat but that is a big no no. But it shows how much respect some kids have for others nowadays. Bad parenting. That is why my girlfriend swallows my future children.

 

meh...back in my day, you mouth off to an adult, you get punished...

 

You can't just grab some other person's kid. If a guy ever grabs my kid like that I'd beat the crap out of him. If my kid is being a douchebag I'll handle it myself.

Yeah I agree..but now a days,if you even touch your own kids your in trouble

 

I may be a young parent but i'm going to be old school. If my son hecks up he's going to regret it. I got my butt beat for being disrespectful, so I stopped being disrespectful. That's why kids today are little bastards. They aren't afraid of the discipline they get.

I love my kids but they know my rules. Always respect your elders, never talk back to your parents, if your plate is not completely clean you have not finished your dinner, if you are not failing you are not trying and never start a fight but you better finish it.

In a perfect world, the little disrespectful brat would have told the story to the cop who would have snatched him up by his throat & screamed in his face..."You were saying what to him???"

Followed by dad coming to pick him up & booting his butt all the way to the car.

It takes a village to raise a child...especially the little butthole ones.

 

that is how it was back when I was knee high to a street junkie. You get it from the teacher, principal, and then your parents. Now if you sneeze in their direction, you get that call from CPA. I can understand if the kid has broken bones or welt marks all over their backs but some children needs it. Spare the rod and spoil the child.
