Former Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Mike Martz is retiring from coaching according to Jason La Canfora of NFL Network. Martz contacted me Monday to confirm that he is ending his distinguished coaching career in order to focus on other opportunities. Martz, a former head coach and long-time offensive coordinator, won a Super Bowl with the St. Louis Rams as an offensive coordinator. He is famous for his innovative schemes and for orchestrating "The Greatest Show on Turf" offense while in St. Louis.

Call me stupid, but I thought he was the Head Coach for that Rams team? Anyway, good luck, Mr. Martz

I actually didn't see this coming. I thought he'd just go somewhere else. Is he a commentator type?

  6. No. I don't think he has the personality for it. More of an analyst similar to a Mooch.
