Free agent quarterback Peyton Manning will meet with John Elway and the Denver Broncos on Friday night, Mike Klis and Woody Paige of The Denver Post report. The Broncos' brass of Elway, general manager Brian Xanders and head coach John Fox are in Stillwater, Oklahoma attending Oklahoma State's pro day, but will return to meet with the 35-year-old future Hall of Famer in Denver tonight. Denver was one of nearly a dozen teams that have inquired about Manning in the hours after he appeared on the NFL's internal personnel notice on Wednesday. The Broncos are armed with plenty of cap space and have a willingness to spend above the salary cap this off-season. The team would likely sell Manning on their solid offensive line and defense, as well as their willingness to adapt their offense around Manning's preferences, just as they did for 2010 first-round pick Tim Tebow midway through the 2011 season.

as effective as he was last year,if they sign peyton, they'll keep tebow and let manning mentor him and help him with the mechanicsand skills of being a better qb.they would still have some plays designed with tebow and pm out on the field at the same time, with tebow running the wild cat or lining up at the slot or wr like the steelers did with slash in the 1990s.

Not sure Peyton wants to be a mentor as much as he wants to win another superbowl. Besides the skills your describing would make Peyton more of a coach.

He's going there first because he has a relationship with Elway and Fox. Wants to be with people he knows well according to Glazer. Which you can understand if you are doing free agency for the first time.

could be a good move for peyton a playoff team just need to get wayne there and they could do some damage in the afc.

Tebow has the tools to be great. Payton IS great. I know that Payton wants to win but honestly, this would be a great move to leave a legacy on someone else too. I think Payton would be happy to mentor Timmy. Plus this team found a way to win with Tebow, imagine what they could do with Wayne and Manning there. But honestly he's just going to go and visit whoever he can at this point. There's no hurt in flying around in private jets being wined and dined by people.

do you think he's going to be visiting a lot of teams?

i think he has a very short list (2-3 teams) that he's planning on actually sitting down with face to face............ he may visit with a couple more teams on the phone but i would think if you don't get a personal visit from peyton, you don't have a chance in hell of signing him.

schefter and mortenson are reporting that manning is going to visit the cardinals after visiting denver and then he's heading back to miami .................

so, are those the 3 teams on his short list? or is miami even getting a face to face visit? are there only 2 teams on his list?

I think those are the main three on his list, Denver being a late entry...

I think it would be cool if he went to Denver. Although I'm not sure if that would lessen or intensify tebowmania.

I saw it say somewhere that if Denver got Manning they would get rid of tebow. can't remember the source though so Idk about the credibility.
