Free-agent wideout Braylon Edwards settled a slander lawsuit against a Detroit restaurant and some of its employees, and donated the settlement money to charity, the website TMZ reported on Sunday. Edwards accused the restaurant and it workers of spreading false rumors of a bar fight involving him that he said cost him a $15 million NFL deal. Neither the terms of the settlement nor the team which offered the contract were reported. Edwards dropped the $14 million suit, which was filed in 2011, last month after reaching the settlement, TMZ said. The website reported that Edwards will use the settlement money to establish scholarships for 100 kids. Source: NFL.com
